What are the changes studied?
End of extension. The idea is to reduce overload about players. In case of a tie in knockout duels, the games will go straight to penalties, as it is at Libertadores, for example.
Times with best campaigns decide at home. The second idea is to allow teams that are better in the first phase to have the “advantage” of always deciding at home the games in the knockout. The current regulation only provides for the benefit in the round of 16. The proposal gained strength after Arsenal complaint – third best in the early stages of this year, the gunners decided out against Real and will also play as visitors in the return game against PSG.
