André Reis delivered this Wednesday, at the headquarters of the National Association of Football Coaches (ANTF), in Gondomar, Porto, its list of candidacy to the body's social organs for the elections scheduled for May 31. After the act, the 37 -year -old coach was talking to the journalists, where he explained the motivations for his candidacy, presented some of the proposals in his electoral program and also left some repairs to the opponent list, headed by Henrique Calisto.
Candidacy Motivations: “Initially, as a group of friends, we analyzed the possibilities of going into UEFA A and UEFA Pro courses and realized that the vacancies were very limited in Portugal and that even when they open vacancies, the criteria are very restrictive. It is very difficult for people with a lot of high level or that are at the highest level, such as the case of João Pereira, from Casa Pia, who competed. To say not only for the widening of vacancies, but also of the courses. We understand that Antf herself should be able to teach directly and without depending on the FPF for UEFA A and UEFA Pro. One thing is to trust the goodwill of another institution, something different is to do something for our professional class and autonomously have these courses, which not only creates new courses, creates more vacancies that exist in other countries. Europeans. ”
Modernization and decentralized vote: “With all due respect for President José Pereira, who did an excellent job and the best he could for the professional class, we understand that the institution is a bit stagnant and stopped in time, needs a modernization at both the level of the ruling bodies, and in general terms. Statutes need to be reviewed. For us, it is not mandatory to come to Porto to vote. Create the basis for electronic vote. This is because, for example, on May 31, coaches like Abel Ferreira, Pepa, Jorge Jesus will not be able to vote because they are still in the middle of the championship and will not be able to move to Porto to do so. ”
Differences in the face of the other candidacy: “Right from the root, by the very composition of the lists, we see on the one hand a list, with all due respect to the candidates, composed mostly by people who have been part of the structure for several years, who have had for several years the possibility of doing something so that Antf was not stagnant and did not. So if we look at it, we have to wonder that if they have not done it? ' Clearly new blood and proposals with solutions, which is not seen there. ”
Solutions for technicians without the required level: “We also address the issues of Rúben Amorim, Moreno, João Pereira, Silas, among others, because it is today, but we present two clear solutions, which are even complementary. One is the change in the regulation of the competition, providing that the technical teams should have at least one level IV, not forcing the main coach. From the competition and the protection of the training, in which the coach is obliged to compete for the next lecturer course to open, the protection of the training guarantees a supernumerary vacancy to the coach and the protection of the training ensures that the coach, while this course does not open, can enjoy the right of coach in the competition in question. Use this exception standard, avoiding abuse. These are measures that have to be discussed with FPF and UEFA, but we are confident that, in the face of the new paradigm of national football, it is possible to have these conversations. ”
Greater failure that points to the opposing candidacy? “I think that when someone proposes to be president of an association should clearly declare what comes. It is not because it was the first president and wanting to be again to apply. The truth is that, in terms of proposals, little or nothing is known about what Henry Calisto intends to present to members. This is a great flaw. Show and say that this is what moves us. When Henrique Calisto announces that it is applied and that it is not a continuity candidacy, this is directly contradictory with the composition of the list.
Is being a less known name a disadvantage? “I do not feel like disadvantage, but the opposite. Henry Calisto, because of his career, will always be subject to a greater scrutiny of what he does and what he presents, than me. For all purposes, Henrique Calisto has already been president of Antf, already had an opportunity to do, and it was one of the factors, but due to the personality that is always more subject to this personality Scrutiny on the part of the members. I stare as a advantage, precisely because it is not linked to the social bodies of recent years and not having people, in my candidacy, who have belonged to social organs in recent years, although there are people who have been linked to ANTF. I think we have all the credibility to do it, because no one can say that we have had the opportunity to do so and we have not done it. ”
Support and composition of the list: “I prefer associates to vote for me for my program, than for having this or that coach supporting or on the list. In fact, the approach I made in the composition of the list was not as media as that. There are two or three better known coaches, but I bet mainly in diversity. Direction, one at the General Assembly and one in the Fiscal Council, in all the organs. The bet was to diversify, to have candidates from almost the entire country, from all areas that Antf supports – football, female football, amateur football, professional football, futsal and female futsal. Wood.”
Trusting? “If it wasn't confident I hadn't delivered the list today.”
