Fernando Oliveira, former president of Vitória de Setúbal, died on Wednesday afternoon at the age of 84 at the Nossa Senhora do Rosário hospital in Barreiro, an establishment in which he had been hospitalized for eight days, confirmed to Lusa Paulo Oliveira, son of the former director.
It is recalled that in addition to chaired the direction of the Sadino emblem in the 1980s, 1990s and, more recently, between 2009 and 2017, Ferrando Oliveira was noted as a striker of CUF, a club of Barreiro who represented between 1964/65 and 1972/73, after having acted two years in Varzim.
Fernando Oliveira, born in Oliveira do Douro (Vila Nova de Gaia), also arrived, after completing his career as a player, to hold the position of coach, first in the juniors of CUF and then in the main team, having, in 1976/77 being assistant of Jimmy Hagan, in Sporting.
The funeral of the former leader of the Setubalense emblem will be held on Friday at the olive tree cemetery. Earlier, on Thursday, from 5 pm, the funeral is held in the chapel of the Barreiro Crematorium, where a religious ceremony takes place at 21h00.
